The Unforgivable makes Grown Men Cry

The Unforgivable is now available on Netflix.

So you feel like crying today? The movie follows Ruth Slater (played by Sandra Bullock) as she’s released from prison for the murder of a sheriff, as he was trying to reposes her home. As she tries to reintegrate herself into society, she’s met with harsh judgement from anyone that knows what she did. She’s driven by the need to reconnect with her sister who was put in the system when she was incarcerated. We get a wonderful trip into a situation where somethings can’t be undone no matter how bad you fell about it.

The Main Cast

Age hasn’t slowed Sandra Bullock down one bit. She’s every bit as talented and every bit as charismatic on screen as she’s always been. As good as she is in comedy movies. Drama is where she just shines. You can feel Ruth’s emotional anguish as she gets ever closer to the inevitable breaking point. Through out the movie, your emotionally invested with her. All the while understanding that all the hate is well deserved .

Viola Davis has such a commanding onscreen performance. She plays a small part in the movie, yet she optimizes the sentiment this movie wants you to feel towards the situation.

Jon can engross himself into any role. And be both believable and relatable. He’s no different in his role as Blake. Where he plays a person trying to get his life in order. All the while having to deal with someone else’s unbelievable baggage.

Where did that come from?

I wouldn’t say that this movie will shatter all preconceptions and open your eyes to the real meaning of life. It is a solid and entertaining watch. While the movie focuses so much on the plot already outlined. We get a great twist that had me reeling at the end credits. So if you wanna role up in to a ball and cry your eyes out give this movie a go.
