Exploring the Magical World of ‘Willow’: A Review of Disney+’s New Series

The movie was released in 1988!

“Willow” is a thrilling fantasy adventure series that has recently premiered on Disney+. Set in a magical world, several years after the events of the original “Willow” movie, the show follows the journey of Jade (Ellie Bamber), a young woman who discovers she has incredible powers that make her a target of those who seek to exploit her abilities.

The series has impressive production values, with stunning visuals, imaginative world-building, and epic action sequences that transport the viewer to a magical realm full of danger and wonder. The show’s attention to detail and its ability to create a believable and immersive environment are commendable. I specially enjoyed the light hearted humor sprinkled in between all the serious tones .

The characters are well-cast and deliver strong performances, with Ellie Bamber’s portrayal of Jade being a standout.

The character’s arc throughout the series is compelling, and viewers will find themselves rooting for her as she navigates the challenges and dangers of her newfound powers.

While the series may not be perfect, with some pacing issues and underdeveloped secondary characters, it nevertheless manages to captivate and entertain its audience. Fans of the original “Willow” movie may appreciate the nods and references to the original story, while new viewers can enjoy the series as a standalone adventure.

Not just a Movie or tv show?

“Willow” is not only a movie and a TV series, but it also inspired several video games based on the franchise. The 2 games I remember the most were both made by capcom . One was on the arcade. It was an side scrolling action platformer. the second was for the NES, and this one was an action roleplaying game in the vein of the legend of zelda. It was an enjoyable and solid game , with nice graphics. I mention this because at the time , games based on movies were crap.

Can it continue?

In conclusion, “Willow” is a must-watch for fantasy fans looking for an engaging and exciting adventure series with stunning visuals, strong performances, and a compelling story. With a blend of magic, action, and humor, “Willow” delivers an enjoyable and memorable viewing experience.
