Dying light 2 has a great crafting system that allows your character both create useful tools and strengthen your weapons. Aside from crafting tools which you can find while scavenging the streets and buildings of Villador and from dead bodies. Infected trophies are unique in the sense that they can only be obtained via killing viral zombies (fast zombies) and volatiles (extremely aggressive and tough) . Infected trophies come in three rarities (uncommon) , (rare), and (unique). This means you can only obtain them by putting your self in danger and battling these beasties. Luckily I found a few spots in the game where this can be done with relative ease. As a side bonus, you will get a lot of valuable items which can be sold for money. Allow me to share them with you. Watch my how to farm virals video:
Early on prepping
- healing items : though relatively safe , you will be hit every now and again
- multiple weapons : preferably slashing and 2 handed weapons as they hit multiple enemies. Blunt type 1 hand weapons only hit one enemy at a time.
- That’s it!
Beginner, Intermediate, Advance
I will share 3 different spots that can be used. Depending on the progression of the game . But it can virtually be done in any spot with uv lamps. Some places are safer than others. It will need to be night to do this, 8pm – 6am.
The Bazaar: Beginner
- Find the closest howler from the uv light source.
- Initiate a chase.
- run back towards the uv lamps.
- run past uv light : if done correctly virals will stop at uv light and jump back.
- If you see a counter at the upper middle it means your not inside uv light.
- go back to uv light and attack virals from the safety of the light. Only attack 2 or 3 times. If you spend too much time in the light the chase will end.
- If you’re too weak to kill virals, you can wait for them to die from the uv light source. This will take too long though.
- End the chase at level 3 by standing it the uv light for 5+ seconds. Chase 4 will spawn only volatiles.
- bonus tip: even though you can’t kill volatiles yet. If your lucky enough, you can trap one in the uv lights and wait for it to die.
Culvert Island : Intermediate
This place is a bit different because you will not be using the uv light to hold back virals. Instead you will be holding your ground and killing any that come in front of you. Virals will not be coming behind you, as you will be on a bridge. And your back will be towards the uv light. I specially liked this place because you get to cut down a lot in no time
- initiate chase
- stand at the end of the bridge and wait for virals to come to you.
- As soon as you see a volatile. end the chase, you won’t be able to use uv light to kill it.
PK Floating Fortress : Advanced
This is the final place where you will need to farm for Infected trophies. You will also be able to farm volatiles with almost no issues. You will however, need additional weapons to effectively do it. Mainly long range weapons.
- you will need a bow, throwing knives, and molotovs.
- exit right side of fortress
- initiate a chase
- run to uv light
- there’s a spot at the right side of the fence, just before the uv light hits you (See pic).
- Stand there
- virals and volatiles will not be able to reach you, even if you’re not directly in the uv light.
- When enough volatiles gather. Throw a molotov at the crowd. As they’re burning, hit them with and arrow or a throwing knife. (They take more damage when on fire.)
One More for the Road
I have one more tip that can help you. At 7am all virals and volatiles will begin running back towards dark areas. If your still on chase level 4, they will still come out of the sewers . If you hit them as they make they’re way out. It’ll kill them in one shot (see pic).
We absolutely love your blog and find almost all of your post’s to be exactly I’m looking for. Do you offer guest writers to write content for you personally? I wouldn’t mind writing a post or elaborating on a number of the subjects you write regarding here. Again, awesome web log!
